European Maritime Safety Agency

Proxy voting in plenary for Members during pregnancy and after giving birth

The European Parliament adopted a resolution proposing to amend the European Electoral Act to allow Members to vote by proxy during pregnancy and after giving birth. The proposal would permit proxy voting for up to three months before the expected birth and six months after, to address health and logistical challenges. Parliament decided to submit the proposal to the Council for approval, as the current rules require Members to vote individually and personally.

Renewing the EU-Africa partnership: building common priorities ahead of the Angola Summit

Parliament adopted a resolution setting out its priorities for the EU-Africa partnership ahead of the EU-African Union summit in Luanda, Angola, on 24 and 25 November 2025.
