- Macro-financial assistance to Egypt
Parliament adopted its position on a proposed law to provide macro-financial assistance to Egypt, in the form of loans, to help the country address its economic and financial difficulties. The assistance is part of a broader EU-Egypt strategic partnership and is subject to conditions, including progress on democratic principles, human rights and the rule of law. Parliament also calls on the Commission to keep it informed and to involve it in negotiating agreements with Egypt on the assistance.
