The role of gas storage for securing gas supplies ahead of the winter season

The law would lower the required storage filling target to 83% by 1 November and extend the rules by two years, with flexibility for member states. Amendments to the International Health Regulations contained in the Annex to Resolution WHA77.17 and adopted on 1 June 2024

✦ AI Parliament gave its consent to the Council decision inviting member states to accept, in the interest of the European Union, amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005). The amendments, adopted on 1 June 2024, introduce a "pandemic emergency" as the highest global alert level and issue non-binding Temporary Recommendations to guide countries. They also strengthen cooperation and set up a coordinating financial mechanism for building core capacities. The decision does not create additional financial obligations for member states, who remain responsible for their health policy.

Protection of the European Union’s financial interests – combating fraud – annual report 2023
