Parliament approved the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers to support workers laid off by the Swedish battery maker Northvolt. The decision releases EU money for personalised services such as job-search help, training, business start-up support and allowances for the affected workers. Parliament also calls for faster handling of such applications and for thorough checks on how the funds are used.
