Genetically modified maize DP910521

The European Parliament objected to the Commission's draft decision authorising the placing on the market of products containing, consisting of or produced from genetically modified maize DP910521. The objection was adopted, meaning the Commission measure is blocked and the maize cannot be authorised for sale in the EU. The resolution cites concerns about the herbicide glufosinate, the Cry1B.34 toxin, and inadequate risk assessment.

Genetically modified maize MON 95275

Parliament objected to a Commission draft decision that would have authorised the sale of products made from genetically modified maize MON 95275. The objection was adopted, so the Commission measure is blocked and the maize cannot be authorised as proposed. Parliament asks the Commission to withdraw its draft and submit a new one, and to consider risks to biodiversity, food safety and health.
