Accession of Montenegro to the Convention of 2 July 2019 on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters

Parliament adopted a resolution supporting Montenegro's accession to the 2019 Judgments Convention on recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in civil or commercial matters. The accession will enter into force for Montenegro on 1 March 2026, making the Convention applicable between the EU and Montenegro. Parliament also recalls that the EU's internal decision-making procedure under Article 218(6) TFEU must still be followed.
