    Parliament objected to a Commission plan to renew the authorisation of genetically modified maize NK603, which is tolerant to glyphosate, for use in food, feed and other products, excluding cultivation. The objection was adopted, so the Commission measure is blocked and the renewal cannot go ahead. Parliament called on the Commission to withdraw its decision and not to renew the authorisation, citing concerns about long-term impacts on biodiversity, food safety, farmers' livelihoods and animal health.
