Mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers: application EGF/2025/007 BE/Casa - Belgium

Parliament approved the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers to support 416 workers made redundant by Casa in Belgium. The decision releases EUR 1 916 733, covering 85% of the total cost of tailored measures such as training, outplacement and job fairs. Parliament asks Belgian authorities to ensure visibility of EU funding and to carry out thorough final evaluations of the measures.

Parliament voted on a proposal to extend the application period of Regulation (EU) 2021/1232, which concerns a specific EU law. It rejected the Commission's proposal and called on the Commission to withdraw it. Parliament will forward its position to the Council, the Commission, and national parliaments.
