Genetically modified cotton GHB614 × LLCotton25Parliament objected to a Commission plan to renew the authorisation of genetically modified cotton GHB614 × LLCotton25 for use in food, feed and other products, excluding cultivation. The objection was adopted, so the Commission measure is blocked and the renewal cannot go ahead. Parliament argued the draft decision exceeds the Commission's powers and is inconsistent with EU law on GMO safety.
