Parliament adopted its position on a proposed EU law updating market rules and support measures for wine and aromatised wine products. The law aims to tackle the wine sector's structural crisis, including oversupply and falling consumption, with tools such as voluntary grubbing-up and distillation. Parliament's amendments add crisis measures to national strategic plans, allow fund carry-over, and harmonise electronic labelling. The position now goes to the Council for agreement before the law is finalised.
