EU-UK Agreement regarding cooperation on the application of their respective competition laws

Amendment of the European Electoral Act allowing Members to vote in plenary by proxy voting during pregnancy and after giving birth

The draft Council decision amends the European Electoral Act to let MEPs who are pregnant or have recently given birth vote by proxy in plenary for up to three months before the expected birth and six months after. Parliament gave its consent to the Council's position, which also says the MEP statute and Parliament's rules should set out the general and detailed conditions for such delegation. The reform will enter into force after member states approve it according to their constitutional requirements.

EU-China Agreement: modification of concessions on all the tariff rate quotas included in the EU Schedule CLXXV

This agreement adjusts EU import quotas for farm, fish and industrial goods after the UK left the EU, splitting the volumes between the EU and the UK. Agreements on Financial Mechanisms for the period May 2021 - April 2028 (EEA: EU-Iceland-Liechtenstein-Norway; Norwegian: EU-Norway); Additional Protocols to EEC-Norway Agreement and to EEC-Iceland Agreement

The European Parliament gave its consent to agreements setting up EU financial mechanisms with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway for May 2021 to April 2028, plus additional protocols on fish imports. These arrangements provide a financial contribution to economic and social cohesion in the EEA, with new concessions and flexibility on unexhausted quotas. The rapporteur raised concerns about imbalances in the fisheries protocol with Norway but backed the package as a whole. Conclusion, on behalf of the European Union, of the United Nations Convention on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration

Parliament gave its consent to the EU concluding the United Nations Convention on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration. The Convention increases public access to documents and hearings in investor-state disputes and lets civil society participate. It applies transparency rules to investment treaties signed before 1 April 2014, covering about 1,200 agreements involving EU member states. Ratification is a first step towards broader reform of investment dispute settlement, including a possible Multilateral Investment Court.
