1. Protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens, mutagens or reprotoxic substances at work

   ✦ AI Parliament adopted its first-reading position on a proposal to amend Directive 2004/37/EC by adding substances and setting limit values in its Annexes I, III and IIIa. The text supports the sixth revision of the carcinogens and mutagens directive, which extends protection to workers in sectors such as manufacturing, construction, healthcare, emergency services, waste management and the circular economy. It includes binding occupational exposure limit values for cobalt and inorganic cobalt compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, isoprene and 1,4-dioxane, and covers welding fumes containing carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substances. Parliament calls on the Commission to refer the matter to it again if the proposal is replaced or substantially amended, and instructs its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission and national parliaments.

2. Psychosocial risks, stress and mental health at work

   ✦ AI Parliament adopted a resolution with recommendations to the Commission on psychosocial risk, stress and mental health at work, covering how work is organised, designed and managed and how this affects workers' mental and physical health. By adopting the text, Parliament made it its official position, setting out its view that the current European Union occupational safety and health framework, notably Directive 89/391/EEC, does not provide sufficiently specific, binding or harmonised provisions on work-related psychosocial risks. Parliament calls on the Commission to present a proposal for a specific European Union directive establishing binding minimum requirements for the prevention, recognition and management of work-related psychosocial risks.

3. The need to reduce work-related fatalities
