   Parliament adopted a resolution on the role of social, economic and environmental standards in safeguarding fair competition for all aquatic food products and improving food security. The text sets out Parliament's position that aquatic food products entering the EU should meet the same or equivalent standards required of EU fishers and producers, to avoid unfair competition and artificially lowered prices. It also calls for stronger customs controls in ports and airports, full use of the eCatch system for traceability, and registration of all imports of fisheries products from non-cooperative countries. Parliament asks for a stamp assuring equivalent conditions to European Quality Schemes for imported products, and for greater autonomy for the outermost regions in the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund, including re-establishing POSEI – Fisheries.

2. Evaluation of the Common Fisheries Policy and follow-up

3. Implementation into Union law of measures adopted by regional fisheries management organisations

   The Commission proposed a regulation to update several EU laws that apply conservation, management and control measures in the convention areas of six regional fisheries management organisations, and to bring rules agreed multilaterally between 2018 and 2024 into EU law. Parliament adopted its position at first reading on this proposal, which sets out its stance for the negotiations with the Council before the law can be final. The committee report includes amendments that add recommendations adopted until 2024 that were missing from the Commission proposal, and the rapporteur asks the Commission to engage with Parliament before future transposition proposals.

4. General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM): fishing in the GFCM Agreement area

   Parliament is considering a proposal to amend an existing European Union regulation on certain provisions for fishing in the area covered by the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) Agreement. 5. The multiannual plan for the Baltic Sea and ways forward

11. EC-Côte d’Ivoire Fisheries Partnership Agreement – Protocol on the implementation of the Agreement for 2025-2029
