Parliament objected to the Commission's plan to finance the 2026 annual action plan for Tanzania, blocking the measure. EC-São Tomé and Príncipe Fisheries Partnership Agreement (2025–2029): Implementing Protocol

Parliament gave its consent to the new four-year protocol implementing the EU–São Tomé and Príncipe fisheries partnership agreement for 2025–2029. The protocol allows EU vessels to fish tuna and other migratory species in São Tomé and Príncipe waters, with an annual EU financial contribution of €825,000. Financing of the 2025 action plan for Tanzania

Parliament objected to the Commission's draft decision financing the 2025 action plan for Tanzania, citing concerns over democratic and human rights deficiencies. Parliament calls on the Commission to withdraw the draft and submit a new proposal that addresses these concerns without harming funding for NGOs and civil society.

EC-Côte d’Ivoire Fisheries Partnership Agreement – Protocol on the implementation of the Agreement for 2025-2029

The European Parliament gave its consent to the conclusion of the Protocol (2025–2029) implementing the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the EU and Côte d’Ivoire. The Protocol sets an annual EU contribution of €740,000, with €305,000 for access rights and €435,000 for sectoral support, and authorizes 25 tuna purse seiners and 7 surface longliners to fish in Côte d’Ivoire’s waters. It aims to ensure sustainable tuna fishing in line with ICCAT rules and to support local fisheries development, including measures against illegal fishing.

Termination of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Cameroon on forest law enforcement governance and trade in timber and derived products to the Union

The European Parliament gave its consent to the termination of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the EU and Cameroon on forest law enforcement, governance and trade in timber and derived products. This means the agreement, which entered into force in 2011 and was tacitly renewable, will expire on 30 November 2025. Parliament's consent follows the Council's request and the committee's recommendation, and its position will be forwarded to the Council, the Commission, and the governments and parliaments of member states and Cameroon.

Protocol on the Implementation of the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau (2024-2029)

Parliament gave its consent to the EU's conclusion of a new protocol to the fisheries agreement with Guinea-Bissau for 2024-2029. The protocol lets EU vessels fish for tuna, cephalopods, shrimps and demersal species in Guinea-Bissau waters. The EU will contribute €85 million over five years, with €4.5 million per year for sustainable fisheries management and local communities. Parliament also asks the Commission to keep it fully informed on the protocol's implementation and renewal.

Conclusion, on behalf of the Union, of the Protocol (2024-2029) implementing the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Cabo Verde

Parliament gave its consent to the EU's conclusion of a five-year protocol to the fisheries partnership agreement with Cabo Verde, allowing EU vessels to fish tuna and related species in Cabo Verde's waters. In return, the EU will pay Cabo Verde an annual financial contribution of 780,000 euros, partly for access to fishing resources and partly to support the development of Cabo Verde's fisheries sector. The protocol aims to promote sustainable fisheries management, decent working conditions, and the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
