1. Case of Victoire Ingabire in Rwanda

   Parliament adopted a resolution on the case of Victoire Ingabire, a Rwandan opposition leader arrested in June 2025 on subversion charges. The text calls for her immediate release and that of other Dalfa-Umurinzi members and journalists held on abusive charges. It urges the EU and member states to raise the crackdown on political opposition with Rwanda and to halt cooperation on critical raw materials until Rwanda stops interfering in the DRC. Parliament also asks the Commission to suspend financial support to Rwandan justice institutions involved in human rights violations.

2. Targeted attacks against Christians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – defending religious freedom and security

   Parliament adopted a resolution condemning the terrorist attacks and targeted killings of Christians by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It calls for those responsible to be referred to the International Criminal Court and for an international commission of inquiry into human rights violations. Parliament supports joint counter-terrorism efforts and urges the EU to help trace funds and raw materials linked to the ADF.

3. Escalation of violence in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo

   Parliament adopted a resolution condemning the Rwandan-backed M23 rebel group's violence and atrocities in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and demanding that Rwanda cease support and M23 withdraw from unlawfully gained territories. The text also demands M23 stop illegal mining and disarm, calls for civilian safety, medical access to Goma, and investigations into crimes. Parliament urges the EU and member states to sanction responsible Rwandan officials and extend sanctions against M23 commanders, and to ensure traceability of minerals from Rwanda.
