Backed by The Left, Verts/ALE, S&D, Renew and PPE; opposed by ECR, PfE and ESN.
Parliament adopted a resolution with recommendations to the Commission on psychosocial risk, stress and mental health at work, covering how work is organised, designed and managed and how this affects workers' mental and physical health. By adopting the text, Parliament made it its official position, setting out its view that the current European Union occupational safety and health framework, notably Directive 89/391/EEC, does not provide sufficiently specific, binding or harmonised provisions on work-related psychosocial risks. Parliament calls on the Commission to present a proposal for a specific European Union directive establishing binding minimum requirements for the prevention, recognition and management of work-related psychosocial risks.
Before the final vote, MEPs decided on 7 amendments (7 rejected) and 20 parts of the text voted on separately (10 adopted, 8 rejected, 2 lapsed).
