Parliament adopted a resolution on tackling barriers to the single market for defence, which addresses fragmentation, regulatory hurdles, and underinvestment in the European defence industry. The resolution calls for deeper reforms to improve cross-border cooperation, interoperability, and competitiveness, noting that defence equipment prices are roughly 30 % higher without full EU-wide cooperation. It also highlights the need to support small and medium-sized enterprises and to address intellectual property and licensing issues in publicly funded defence research.
Before the final vote, MEPs decided on 2 amendments (2 rejected).
