Stresses the central role of the LIFE programme as a key Union instrument for advancing climate action and environmental protection, supporting climate mitigation and adaptation and contributing to the Union’s climate neutrality objectives in line with the Paris Agreement; highlights its contribution to protecting and restoring nature and biodiversity, tackling biodiversity loss, reducing emissions, promoting renewable energy and advancing the transition towards a circular economy; underlines the programme’s importance in accelerating the clean energy transition and strengthening the resilience of ecosystems; calls therefore for a substantial increase in funding for all programme's strands, to ensure that the Union’s climate and biodiversity objectives are effectively delivered and that the necessary investment in nature protection and restoration is secured;
