| 43a. Stresses that the outsourcing of cleaning, catering, childcare, travel agency and IT services services exposes the staff concerned, who are predominantly women, to often more precarious employment conditions, a deterioration in their working conditions and less favourable social protection; recalls that Parliament must set an example in terms of workers’ rights and job quality; accordingly calls for the in-house provision of those services, including the staff responsible for them, to be reinstated as soon as possible, with full respect for workers’ rights, fair remuneration, guarantees ensuring continuity of employment and compliance with the highest social and labour standards; |

| 43b. Stresses that Parliament’s drivers perform an essential role in the functioning of the institution and in transporting Members and other authorised persons; notes that their working conditions, their knowledge of security requirements and their potential access to confidential information concerning the institution’s movements and activities require specific safeguards; considers that outsourcing these functions could undermine service continuity, the ability to ensure compliance with security requirements and the confidentiality inherent in these duties; accordingly calls for Parliament’s driver services to remain in-house and opposes any outsourcing of these functions; |
