Justification
This proposal transposes the 2024 reform of EU economic governance into sectoral legislation, tightening control over Member States that deviate from established criteria and putting pressure on their budgetary policy. These federalist decisions to curtail states’ sovereignty are unacceptable, especially at a time when economic and social conditions are worsening and cost of living is on the rise. When public intervention is essential and urgently needed, these changes limit states’ ability to protect the living conditions of peoples and workers.
