This Agreementagreement establishes cooperation between Europol and the competent authorities of Brazil with a view to allow the transfer of personal and non-personal data between them. Such an arrangement is necessary in order to support and strengthen the action by the authorities of the Member States of the Union and those of Brazil, in preventing and combating criminal offences, including serious crime and terrorism. At the same time, this agreement provides appropriate safeguards with respect to human rights and fundamental freedoms of individuals, including the right to privacy and data protection.
