How a file moves through Parliament

A file is referred to one lead committee (others may give an opinion). Its rapporteur writes a draft report, committee members table amendments, and the committee votes to adopt the report. The report is then tabled for all MEPs; political groups can table further amendments, which are voted on before the final vote in plenary. The adopted resolution is Parliament’s final position; it is not itself law.

The text, version by version

Latest Tabled for plenary → Adopted by Parliament: Adds a call for legislation on equal use of official languages and scripts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Updates the paragraph on the Growth Plan to welcome the draft reform agenda and calls for swift adoption, replacing earlier regret and urging. see the changes →

Committee draft → Tabled for plenary: The report now strongly condemns secessionist actions by RS leaders, calls for sanctions, and supports EUFOR's role. It adds extensive new paragraphs on foreign interference, disinformation, and the need for reforms in justice, anti-corruption, and public administration. It expands sections on human rights, including gender-based violence, minority protections, and media freedom. It adds detailed provisions on migration, reconciliation, and economic and environmental policies, including the Growth Plan and energy diversification. The other changes are formal or wording: updated recitals and rephrased paragraphs. see the changes →
