European Parliament legislative resolution of 20 May 2026 on the draft Council decision on the conclusion, on behalf of the European Union, of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime; Strengthening International Cooperation for Combating Certain Crimes Committed by Means of Information and Communications Technology Systems and for the Sharing of Evidence in Electronic Form of Serious Crimes (14941/2025 – C10-0369/2025 – 2025/0231(NLE))

– having regard to the draft Council decision (14941/2025),

– having regard to the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime; Strengthening International Cooperation for Combating Certain Crimes Committed by Means of Information and Communications Technology Systems and for the Sharing of Evidence in Electronic Form of Serious Crimes (12735/25),

– having regard to the request for consent submitted by the Council in accordance with Article 82(1) and (2), Article 83(1) and Article 87(2), and Article 218(6), second subparagraph, point (a), of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (C100369/2025),

– having regard to Rule 107(1) and (4) and Rule 117(7) of its Rules of Procedure,

– having regard to the recommendation of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (A10-0090/2026),

1. Gives its consent to the conclusion of the agreement;

2. Instructs its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and to the United Nations.
