Welcomes the recent agreement between the SDF and the Syrian transitional government; reaffirms its continued and unwavering support for the ceasefire and the recognition of civil and educational rights of Kurds; calls on all parties to refrain from any action that could lead to a new escalation of violence, to respect existing ceasefire arrangements, and to support mechanisms aimed at monitoring and sustaining ceasefire commitments; | 3. Takes note of the recent agreement between the SDF and the Syrian transitional government; reaffirms its continued and unwavering support for the ceasefire and the recognition of civil and educational rights of Kurds; calls on all parties to refrain from any action that could lead to a new escalation of violence, to respect existing ceasefire arrangements, and to support mechanisms aimed at monitoring and sustaining ceasefire commitments; suggests that the EU and the Member States act as a third-party guarantor to ensure compliance with the agreement; emphasises that this third-party guarantor cannot be a country directly involved in the local situation or too distant from the potential consequences of a breach of the agreement; |
