Welcomes the establishment of an independent investigative mechanism for Afghanistan to answer the call of Afghan victims as a significant milestone in the pursuit of truth, justice and accountability for the people of Afghanistan, who are suffering from international crimes and violations of international law committed in the country; welcomes also the renewal of the UN Special Rapporteur’s mandate and echoes his call for accountability;
