Is very concerned about the destabilising effect of mass displacement in the whole region; notes that according to the Egyptian Government, 1.2 million Sudanese people have arrived in Egypt since April 2023 but that the real figure is, according to local organisations, significantly higher; notes that, according to statistics, there is an increased movement of Sudanese refugees to Europe; insists on the regional placement of Sudanese refugees; observes that both the Syrian and Sudanese crises underline the need for an externalisation of EU asylum policies and for regional protection areas; |
