Takes the view that, in a border area, healthcare professionals in the Member State of residence of a cross-border worker should be able to be remunerated on the basis of the reimbursement rate of the Member State in which that cross-border worker is employed; takes the view, in this regard, that the regulation on the coordination of social security systems or any other new legislation could define special border areas of proven medical pressure, by means of an implementing or delegated act, allowing healthcare professionals to charge for care at the rate of the Member State in which the cross-border workers and their family members are working; emphasises that this measure would make it possible to ensure fairer access to healthcare for all by encouraging healthcare staff to settle on the side of the border where there is a healthcare staff shortage, while increasing supply to members of the public, whether or not they are cross-border workers;
