Expresses concern over Türkiye’s instrumentalisation of its role as the COP31 host country to politically promote the illegal secessionist entity in the occupied area of Cyprus, including through the invitation extended to the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community; stresses that all COP31 proceedings must fully respect international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, notably Resolutions 541 (1983) and 550 (1984), the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, and the applicable UNFCCC rules and procedures; |
