Notes that the European Climate Law enshrines the EU’s commitment to climate neutrality by 2050 and the EU’s 2030 climate target to reduce net GHG emissions by at least 55 % by 2030 relative to 1990 levels; calls on the Commission to provide a full and comprehensive impact assessment accordingly, in particular regarding the adequate definition of specific objectives and criteria, to justify the level of uncertainty of the modelling of the CO2 emissions budget and specify the costs and financial feasibility of the targets, while taking into account all economic aspects and societal acceptance; calls for the EU to pursue a realistic climate policy that ensures affordable energy prices for households and businesses, and maintains competitiveness and energy security;
