Notes the recent re-engagement between Türkiye and Greece, but remains fully aware that any positive dynamics can be easily reversed at any moment due to Turkey’s continuing destabilising actions in the region over the past years and while the underlying issues remain unresolved; regrets that despite a partial de-escalation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean, Türkiye continues its unilateral illegal actions and aggressive rhetoric and to unfoundedly dispute the sovereignty and sovereign rights of EU Member States, including by expressing its determination to continue its illegal activities in the Eastern Mediterranean and to impose the so-called ‘Blue Homeland’ doctrine; calls on Türkiye to respect the sovereignty of all EU Member States over their territorial sea and airspace, as well as their sovereign rights, including, inter alia, the right to explore and exploit natural resources, in accordance with EU and international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which is part of the EU acquis; stresses that all delimitation agreements must fully abide by the International Law of the Sea as reflected in UNCLOS and not encroach neighbouring state’s rights on their maritime zones; continues to call Turkey to show genuine collective engagement to the settlement of the delimitation of exclusive economic zones (EEZs) and the continental shelf in both the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, in good faith and in line with international law and the principle of good neighbourly relations, and to refrain from any unilateral illegal actions or threats; reiterates the EU’s readiness to use all instruments and options at its disposal, including those under Article 29 TEU and Article 215 TFEU, in order to defend its interests and those of its Member States, as well as to uphold regional stability;

Expresses its deep concern at Turkey's long-standing illegal and aggressive behaviour in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea against the Republic of Cyprus and Greece, its bellicose rhetoric and the risk of military escalation by a country that is still considered an EU candidate against EU Member States; strongly condemns Turkey's long-standing violations of Greek and Cypriot national airspace, including flights over populated areas and territorial waters, which not only constitute a serious, ongoing violation of international law, but have created a risk of armed conflict; strongly condemns Turkey's illegal activities in Greek and Cypriot territorial waters, which violate the sovereignty and sovereign rights of EU Member States and international law; expresses its full solidarity with Greece and the Republic of Cyprus; expresses its serious concern about the illegal Turkish fishing activities in Greek territorial waters in the Aegean Sea and the unregulated and illegal fishing activities of the turkish fishing fleet in greek, cypriot territorial waters and international waters in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean; urges Turkey to fully respect international law and the law of the sea, to engage in the peaceful resolution of disputes and to refrain from any unilateral and illegal action or threat;
