Stresses that women’s health must be recognised as a priority in health policy, medical research and clinical practice; emphasises the need to improve knowledge and understanding of women’s biological and physiological specificities, including sex-specific symptoms, hormonal factors and the different stages of women’s lives; calls for these specificities to be systematically taken into account in medical education and training, prevention, research, diagnosis, clinical guidelines and treatment, in order to ensure safe, effective and appropriately tailored healthcare for women;

	19a. Recalls that the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion is guaranteed by Article 10 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and that the right to conscientious objection is recognised in accordance with the national laws governing its exercise; stresses that healthcare professionals should not be compelled to perform specific medical acts to which they have a sincere objection on grounds of conscience, provided that this right is exercised in accordance with applicable national law, professional and ethical standards and the duty to provide emergency care, and provided that patients are informed in a timely manner and that continuity of care is ensured;

	19b. Emphasises that safe and effective healthcare requires patients to provide complete and accurate information on all clinically relevant aspects of their health, including their biological sex and anatomy; stresses that healthcare professionals should not incur liability for consequences directly resulting from a patient’s deliberate withholding of such information, nor for declining an examination or treatment which, on objective biological or clinical grounds, falls outside their professional competence, is medically inappropriate or cannot be safely performed, including where clinically relevant information provided or recorded does not correspond to the patient’s biological or anatomical characteristics; underlines that any such decision must be duly justified and must respect the duties of non-discrimination, confidentiality and emergency care;
