Proposal for a regulation

| The European Parliament rejects the Commission proposal. |
Or. pt
Justification
This proposal transposes the 2024 reform of the EU’s economic governance into sectoral legislation, toughening sanctions and ramping up pressure on Member States’ budgetary policies. These federalist decisions to curtail states’ sovereignty are unacceptable, especially at a time when economic and social conditions are worsening and cost of living is on the rise. When public intervention is essential and urgently needed, including by way of measures that have a budgetary impact, these changes limit states’ ability to protect the living conditions of peoples and workers.
