Proposal for a regulation

| The European Parliament rejects the Commission proposal. |
Or. en
Justification
This Regulation establishes unequal trade conditions between the EU and the US, with the EU reducing or eliminating tariffs on many U.S. products while many EU exports continue to face tariffs of up to 15% on the U.S. market. It undermines the Union’s industrial and agricultural sovereignty and is only the first implementation step of a wider EU–US agreement that risks increasing the Union’s dependence on the United States and harming the interests of EU citizens. Recent U.S. tariff threats and hostile actions further demonstrate that the United States is not a reliable partner.
