Justification

This regulation would impose a centrally decided, EU wide ban on specific suppliers and contractual arrangements in the energy sector, thereby seriously encroaching on the energy policy sovereignty of the Member States, on contractual freedom and on the freedom of economic decision making of undertakings. From the ESN perspective, decisions on energy mix, suppliers and long term contracts must remain with the Member States and market participants, not be imposed by supranational legislation.
