In Article 73(3), point d, the following point is added:

“(v) purchasing high-quality genetic material or high-quality breeding animals under the commitments referred to in Article 70;”;

Justification

This is of crucial importance in the context of the decline of the livestock sector at European level, as it can stimulate investments in high-quality breeding animals, with superior genetic quality better adapted to a changing environment, but also new feed technologies, that can lead to increasing productivity while reducing methane emissions.
