An animal is not a toy. Buying or adopting an animal is a life-changing decision. As an animal owner, you are obliged to ensure that all the needs for its health and well-being are met at all times.

An animal is not a toy. Buying or adopting an animal is a life-changing decision and involves extra costs. As an animal owner, you are obliged to ensure that all the needs for its health and well-being are met at all times.

Only officially recognised operators are allowed to sell or supply animals because they are able to guarantee their health and welfare. All other operators are considered to be illegal and using them would make you complicit in trafficking. Animals placed on the market by such sources can carry diseases or suffer from health problems.

In accordance with the legislation in force in your country of residence, abandonment may be punished.
