Stresses that the overseas countries and territories (OCTs) and the Union’s outermost regions require specific support owing to their remoteness; draws particular attention to the difficulties of accessing drinking water and ensuring sound sanitation, as well as to the poor condition of water distribution networks, which are common issues in both the OCTs and outermost regions; notes with concern that while these issues are priorities in the Union’s external humanitarian action, the OCTs and outermost regions of the Union do not appear to receive the support they deserve with regard to these serious problems;
