Paragraph 12 b (new)

Motion for a resolution

Amendment

12b. Calls for a reduction in the budget of the Fundamental Rights Agency, given the presence of fundamental rights officers in several agencies, such as Frontex; calls for the strengthening of the Frontex agency through an increase in appropriations to recruit permanent agents equipped with service weapons to assist Member States in defending the external borders, as well as for the acquisition of control equipment, including land, air and sea surveillance systems; notes that this increase should also enable the permanent corps to contribute to the digitalisation of border controls, in particular through the new ETIAS system for entry and exit, and should ensure access to relevant databases (Schengen Information System, Visa Information System, Eurodac, etc.), as well as their full interoperability;

Paragraph 13 a (new)

13a. Is deeply concerned about the association agreement between the EU and Mercosur, which will facilitate the massive import of low-cost agricultural products that do not comply with the strict environmental, social and health standards imposed on European producers; regrets the Commission’s commitment to allocate EUR 1.8 billion to support Mercosur countries, while European farmers will be negatively impacted by the trade agreement that will increase unfair competition;

Paragraph 15 b (new)

Motion for a resolution

Amendment

15b. Regrets the fact that the economic policy pursued in Brussels condemns Europe to defeat in the face of global economic competitors; notes that while sustainability is important, the way it is promoted through the Green Deal by the Commission is ruining Europe; recalls that the result of this policy is that Europeans pay three times more for electricity and five times more for natural gas than their American competitors, which prevents European companies from maintaining their global competitiveness; calls for an entirely new energy policy, in which energy sanctions must be lifted and artificially closed energy transport routes reopened;
