PROPOSAL FOR A EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT DECISION

– having regard to Rule 131 of its Rules of Procedure,

– having regard to the report of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (A9-0000/2024),(A9-0150/2024),

A. whereas Article 56(4) of Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 provides that the members of the Single Resolution Board referred to in Article 43(1), point (b), of that Regulation are to be appointed on the basis of merit, skills, knowledge of banking and financial matters, and of experience relevant to financial supervision, regulation and bank resolution;

G. whereas on 20 March 2024, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs held a hearing with Karen Braun-Munzinger, at which she made an opening statement and then answered questions put by members of the Committee;

1. [ApprovesApproves the appointment of Karen Braun-Munzinger as Member of the Single Resolution Board for a period of five years] [Declines to approve the appointment of Karen Braun-Munzinger as Member of the Single Resolution Board and asks for the proposal to be withdrawn and for a new one to be submitted];years;

2. Instructs its President to forward this decision to the European Council, the Council, the Commission and the governments of the Member States.
