Reason:
The Commission welcomes the European Parliament’s initiative to present its views in the own initiative report ‘A revamped long-term budget for the Union in a changing world’ and takes due note of the ideas and positions expressed by the European Parliament.
The Parliament’s report will serve as a useful and timely input in view of the preparation of the Commission proposals for the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, which the Commission intends to present in July 2025.
Preliminarily, Commissioner SERAFIN addressed the points raised by the European Parliament during the plenary debate that took place on 6 May 2025.
The Commission looks forward to cooperating with the European Parliament throughout the negotiations on the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework.
