European Parliament legislative resolution of 10 April 2024 on the draft Council decision on the conclusion, on behalf of the European Union, of the Partnership Agreement between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Members of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, of the other part (05789/2024 – C9-0029/2024 – 2023/0464(NLE))

Under the procedure referred to above, at its meeting of 22 February 2024, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) decided to send the opinion in the form of a letter and in particular to call on the Committee on Development, as the committee responsible, to recommend the approval of the proposal for a Council Decision.

The Committee on Foreign Affairs calls on the Committee on Development, as the committee responsible, to recommend the approval of the proposal for a Council Decision on the conclusion, on behalf of the European Union, of the Partnership Agreement between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the Members of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, of the other part.

– having regard to the opinion of the Committee on International Trade,

– having regard to the letter from the Committee on Foreign Affairs,

– having regard to the recommendation of the Committee on Development (A9-0147/2024),

1. Gives its consent to the conclusion of the Agreement;

2. Instructs its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of the Members of Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
